ODBD December challenge

This was a real challenge for me since after the card was finished I discovered ink on two places. I would have probably tossed it and started over but one of my daughters colored these adorable bunny/bees. I have been hoarding it and decided it was time to make a card. It was just too cute to be tucked away in a box. I'm hoping the daisies added look planned. The jury is still out on that one! This one has Stickles on it so I will make some for spring cards that don't have Stickles  for our heroes. This one will go to my wonderful 91 year old Mom. She looks so forward to receiving cards and she shows them to everyone that comes to her home.

OWH Red,white and Blue Midweek Challenge

For some reason I had so much trouble making these cards. It seemed as though everything I touched I messed up. Well I'm posting these anyway and they will be redone before they go to the troops. I'm not one to make excuses, but there is a solar eclipse coming and it's raining....Could that be the problem? Oh well! As Scarlet O'Hara said,"Tomorrow is another day" and let's see what I can mess up tomorrow! Thanks for looking but not too close, okay?

ODBD November Challenge

This month the challenge is to dust off a rarely used tool or technique and use it on our card. This was a fun challenge and I used a layered Cricut die cut of a bee. I also used a studio G stamp that I have had for a long and only used once. I have not used my Cricut in a long time either since I tend to cut a lot out at one time. The border punch is from EK Success and I have only used it once. The sketch used is #139 .Thanks to our Daily Bread Designs.

Midweek Valentine Throw down challenge

Thank you for stopping by! I used sketch # 144  and embossed the background paper with a cuttlebug vine/leaf folder. I believe the stamp set is from TCP and the birds and vines were colored with Copic markers. My sweet daughter Holly, who also makes cards for OWH, gave me a set. I am still learning how to use Copics as you can see, but they are really fun! The deadline for the OWH Valentine cards is December 31st. Thank you and come back soon.

HAPPY Fall Everyone!

I am so happy to be back.  All of the photos of the cards already sent to Caro are blurry, but hopefully that is going to change, so hang in there with me. There are so many great OWH  sketches and I have a lot of catching up to do. Here is the newest sketch and tonic studios is sponsoring the challenge. Please go and check out their site: http://www.tonic-studios.com/.  Here is my start on Valentine  cards.

I do believe this is a jungle bee. At least I will use him for the Jungle Challenge for Operation Write Home Virtual Card Making Party
I have wanted to make a card with this cute bumble bee for some time. When the challenge was posted I thought it would be a good time to use this image from  http://beccysplace.blogspot.com/. This uses sketch is OWH sketch # 40.

VCMP Challenge # 3 : Funky Fold

The Funky Fold card was so much fun to do after getting the cut on the card stock right. I realized after cutting a whole piece of card stock wrong that you can't do this in the dark! I love this design and can't wait to try it with other themes. This little French Scottie reminds me so much of  the three Scottish Terriers that we owned or should I say owned us. We had a Wheaton Scottie named Duchess, and the two black Scotties were Jacque and Tara. I love Scottish Terriers and I see one in my future but until then I will keep coloring Scottie digi's.
Thank you for stopping by and have a blessed day!

OWH Midweek Throw down Challenge

I finally got my OWH midweek throw down challenge done fairly quickly. Thanks to Paula S. with OWH who gave a tutorial on cutting and organizing our card stock and designer paper for the card fronts. I got busy after reading her tutorial and started cutting and organizing my paper and card stock into mats for my A2 cards. I also went through die cuts and digi stamps that were colored and matched the papers to those. It has really been nice to have the card fronts together instead of wandering around my craft room searching for the right paper. I still have more to organize but I have a great start. Thank you Paula for a great tutorial; you have no idea how much it helped me. Thanks to my awesome daughter Holly who printed a bunch of cards for me with the OWH stamp printed on the back. Those were already cut and folded so between Holly and Paula I am good to go! Thanks to both of you!
The SVG cut for the street lamp is from Images by Heather M. http://imagesbyheatherm.wordpress.com/. The paper is Prima Botanical  6x6 paper stack. The Bible verse was done on my PC.  The park bench is a digi stamp and I will have to  post later and give credit to the designer. The bench was colored with Copics that Holly gave me for my birthday in December.

OWH Sketch Challenge # 105

We were under a tornado from the wee hours of the morning until 11 am today. The winds were very strong all night, so it made for a rather sleepless night. We are very blessed that there was no damage except for shingles blown off the roof. My prayers go out to those in Alabama who lost loved ones. Northwest Georgia really dodged what could have been a very damaging storm. I finally got around to making the OWH sketch # 105. I wish my photos looked like the cards actually do. I hope you are in a safe place tonight and out of the path of any storms. Thank you for looking and come back often!

I love this sketch and had to make another one today. After gluing the circle down it dawned on me that I wanted to pop dot it. I do this all the time you and you would think I would learn but no....If you have ever tried to pull up something after using heavy duty glue, it doesn't work out too well. I use to have a product called Undo but haven't seen it in the craft stores lately. I need it with all the mistakes I make. Undo works great for removing any glue without damaging your paper or photo.

ODBD January challenge

The weather today has been awful! It is rainy and chilly but it makes for a great day to make cards. My thanks goes to Our Daily Bread Stamp Company for supporting OWH. This is the third challenge which to use three patterned papers on our cards. I tend to use too large of a design on my cards and the paper does not show up as much as I would like. I wish I had more real estate to work on or maybe just make the images smaller! Thank you for stopping by. Please check out http://ourdailybreaddesigns.com/.

OWH Sketch Challenge # 101

This clothesline reminds me of Amish country where you see clothes hanging on the clotheslines of all the farms. I have pictures of clothes from an Amish farm I visited in Lancaster, PA. It was taken with their permission of course. This sketch is really late for the challenge. It turned out really cute, but the picture is blurry. I can not get a clear picture most of the time. One of the things I want to do this coming year is to improve my photography skills and figure out what the problems are. I wanted to get it posted and try to get some other sketches done. Thank you for looking and I hope your new year is off to a good start. My prayer is that all of our heroes will be home soon. Blessing to you!
