You're Sweet Cupcake card

We are having wind advisories all day today and this after a tornado hit a few miles from our house on December 23rd. We had wind damage with another apple tree~ gone. My favorite classic movie is "Gone With The Wind" but this is a bit much. I think it's a good day to try to get some cards made for OWH.
I hope all of you had a wonderful and safe Christmas or Hanukkah! We had a great time with our family and almost one year old Great grandson that we saw for the first time.
This is another love card that I did not have time to post before Christmas. I hope to improve my photography skills this coming year. Thank you for visiting my blog and enjoy the rest of your holidays.

Snowman Card Sketch #98

What a terrible day this has been. I thought taking a picture of the snowman card I made yesterday would make today end better than it started. Today, someone shot a very beloved dog that belongs to my daughter and son-in-law. He is at the Emergency vets office after having surgery for a severe wound. We are praying that he will be back with us in a few days. We have acreage and I believe a hunter shot him on purpose. What a sad world it is that someone would shoot a dog just for sport. He is very badly wounded and I pray Otis will be alright. He is one of the best dogs you will ever find and this is an absolute tragedy. I am sorry for Heather and David for having to go through this. I hope this card makes you smile.

Grateful

It is almost Thanksgiving  and I have been reflecting on all the people I am  grateful to have in  my life. I am so grateful that I am a child of God and grateful for my family and friends. I am not always grateful for what I have, but I have all I need and that should be enough!  When I think of our troops who are away from their families
it brings everything into perspective. I am very blessed. So say a prayer for our troops and say a prayer for peace and pray they will all be home soon. To all of you that took the time to read this, blessings to you and Happy Thanksgiving!

My mom is 90! I am so thankful I still have her. She is a real blessing. She ask me to make a card for her neighbor. I hope she and her husband like it.
The digi stamp is from Marianne Walker@ Imagination International Inc. I colored  the digi with my artist pencils and blended with Rembrandt mineral spirits. The cardstock is Bazzill and the DP is Bo Bunny Autumn Wood Fun.

Winter Cards

I have been making Love/Valentine and other cards for OWH.  I found this beautiful digi stamp from Beccky's Place and knew I had to make a card.  The image is so pretty and I did not do it justice, but maybe the next one will turn out better. I think one reason I fell in love with this stamp, besides being lovely, she reminds me of my two beautiful daughters. It is raining today and looks very wintry; it is a perfect day for card making and there are snowmen waiting for me.
The digi was colored with art pencils and blended with
high quality mineral Spirits and a blending tool.

Digi: Beccky Place, Paper: Colorbok embossed with the
Cuttlebug snow flake folder and cut with the Scallop
Nestability.
Trim is from my mom's stash.
I added Star Dust Stickles to the card for sparkle.
This card will be used as a personal card.

I  colored this one similar to the one Beccky
made. I used Bazzille cardstock and punched
the white cardstock with the Fiskars fan punch.

Thank you Veterans

It is the night before Veterans Day and I think of my Dad who was an Army officer in World War II.
Dad was in Europe in the 66th Panther Division. He was just the best Dad any girl could ever hope to have. So tomorrow along with seeking out veterans to thank; I will think of  Dad and Thank God for blessing me with a wonderful Dad and for his service to our country.

Now, for a few cards made for heroes. The first card was made by Austin, one of my four Grandson's. Austin made a great card and he did it with little help. He wrote the note without any help. I was so amazed at how expressive he was in writing his note to a hero. The other two cards are for our heroes to send home to their loved ones.

The cute mouse and Giraffe are for the next box of cards for OWH.
Paper is from my stash and their is not a label on it. I do remember it came from a paper pack, but I don't know what company. The cardstock is Colorbok and Bazille, The stamp used on both cards is Inkadinkado.

First Kiss

This card is created for Operation Write Home.  The card was designed based on the above sketch in the Stars & Stamp Blog Sunday Sketch Challenge.

The pretty red cardstock is embossed with hearts and love sentiments.  The white stripe with light pink writing was cut using a Martha Stewart scalloped border punch.  The precious image is from Inger Harding and colored using pencils. The image is bordered with a black card stock.  The pink design paper has a image of  musical notes in a slightly darker pink that has been distressed on both the back drop piece and the sentiment.   The sentiment is popped on foam tape.
What is sweeter than a first kiss?

I cannot believe it is November the first already and I am making  love and Valentine cards! This is the first sketch that I have tried for OWH and I loved it. I will make a few more with this sketch and then try some of the others. Happy November and please let me know what you  think.

Vintage Christmas Paperbag Album

This Album was one of my first paper bag albums. I make them entirely different now. I learned so much from different scrapbook artists on You Tube.  I especially love Laura from  Follow The Paper Trail. My albums look so different now, but we all learn and improve with time.  The papers and tags are Daisy D's Timeless Christmas. I love Daisy D's vintage papers. My vintage Christmas photos will be put into this album in time! I will eventually list some other scrapbook artist who have inspired me.
